ARCHERY

Allen County: The Allen County Archers hold 3-D shoots the first Saturday and Sunday of each month through September. It is open to all equipment. They are also holding traditional 3-D shoots on the third Saturday of the month all year long. They are open to all archery equipment. BASKETBALL

Fort Wayne, Ind.: Gym Rats and the Indy Heat are playing host to a pair of free clinics for coaches of all levels at the SportONE Fieldhouse on Saturday, Sept. 11, and Saturday, Oct. 16, with a lineup of speakers. The clinics start at 9 a.m. and are hosted by former Indiana Tech coach Dan Kline. Registration is requested by emailing dan.kline@frontier.com or nancyc@gymratsbasketball.com. The clinics are designed for coaches to help younger players develop fundamental skills and master techniques appropriate to each age level. For more information, call Gym Rats at 260-471-5270.

BOXING

Delphos: Frank Garza, a Hall of Fame International official, will give a presentation on his career at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Delphos Canal Museum, 241 North Main St. The public is invited to attend this free event which will include questions and answers.

EQUESTRIAN

Cridersville: The Equestrian Therapy Program is holding a volunteer orientation and training session at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, at Fassett Farm, 22532 Grubb/Bowsher Road. FOOTBALL

Lima: The Lima Senior High School Athletic Department will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1996 Lima Senior Division I state championship at halftime of the Friday, Sept. 10, varsity home game against Toledo St. John’s.

GOLF

Lima: The Superior Foundation will be playing host to an outing at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at Shawnee Country Club. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $500 per foursome with sponsorships also available. Event will benefit programs like Wheels to Work, SuperiorFirst and the Superior Foundation Scholarship Program. Register at superiorcu.com/about/golf-outing. Lima: the UNOH Sport Marketing & Management Golf Outing will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at Springbrook Golf Club. This year’s event is centered around helping fund a trip for a select group of UNOH students to volunteer and gain unbelievable experience at Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles in February. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. There will also be a dinner where awards will be handed out. Cost is $75 per player, which includes green fees, cart and two drink tickets. Sponsorships are also available. Findlay: The Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law is sponsoring its inaugural golf outing Friday, Oct. 8, at Findlay Country Club. The event is a fundraiser for the law college’s public interest scholarship, which is awarded to qualified ONU law students who spend their summers providing assistance to those in need. The scholarship helps students with their summer living expenses. Registration is open for foursomes ($600) or individuals ($150). Each player will receive two beverage tickets, a gift bag, a raffle ticket and lunch. A reception will be held after the outing to present awards and prizes, recognize donors and sponsors and announce silent auction winners. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and silent auction donations are being accepted. HORSESHOES

Lima: The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C St., have openings in leagues and doubles. Open doubles begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Corn hole leagues are forming. PICKLEBALL

Lima: Pickleball is played at Bradfield Center from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. All skill levels are welcome.

Lima: The Lima YMCA is holding open pickleball play from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (appointment only). Free for YMCA members and $3 per visit for nonmembers or $20 per month for nonmembers (unlimited play). Individuals can register online at limaymca.net. Call 419-223-6045 for more information.

RUNNING

Lima: The Lima Family YMCA will be playing host to a virtual 5k walk/run Saturday, Sept 11, to honor those who lost their lives and to support area heroes. All profits from the $20 entry fee will go towards local fire and police departments. Every participant will receive a custom medal. St. Henry: Early bird registration has opened for the return of the Cooper Farms Turkey Trot 5K, benefiting Everheart Hospice. The race will take place Saturday, Nov. 6. Though the race is back in person this year, the post-race hot turkey meal will be served carry-out style. Registration with long sleeve Tek shirt is $30 for anyone ages 15 and older and $15 for those 14 and younger. Registration without receiving a shirt will be $15 for those 15 and olders and free for those 14 and younger. Prices increase after Oct. 3. TRAPSHOOTING

Lima: The Lima Sabres have various shooting events. Thursday Trap Practice for Adults/Juniors/Beginners is 4 p.m. weekly. Adult Trap Practice is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, weather permitting. WRESTLING

Lima: WAR Wrestling returns to Empowered Sports Center, 1730 N. Union St. (formerly Northland Bowling Center) on Saturday, Sept. 11, for “United We Stand” and the Spin The Wheel Challenge. Advance tickets at Groamy’s CD’s & Tapes, 1206 W. Robb Ave., and at warwrestling.com. Tickets are $16 reserved VIP, third row, (first & second rows sold out) and $12 for general admission. VIP doors open at 5:30 p.m. and general admission doors at 6:30 p.m.. Bell time is 7 p.m. Fans will spin the wheel and whoever it lands on wrestles right on the spot.
